Harry Kane made his big summer transfer window move to Bayern Munich in search of trophies, which had eluded him in his entire Tottenham Hotspur tenure.
But though the Bavarians already fell short in the DFB-Pokal — Kane watching from the bench as an unused substitute as third-division Saarbrücken felled the German giants in the second round — he remains undeterred.
“The Bundesliga and Champions League are what we are setting out to win with Bayern and the Euros with England we are setting out to win,” Kane said recently (as captured by Channel 4, via @iMiaSanMia). “The teams I am in have really good chances of winning those trophies.
“The aim with England is to win Euros, we came extremely close in the last one and that made us hungrier to come back and win this one. No excuses, we want to win titles and to do so with England would be the most special feeling ever.”
Bayern and Kane are off to a strong start in the other competitions, but neither will be a cakewalk. This year, the Bavarians look to be in for a fight against a surging Leverkusen side coached by Xabi Alonso.
