Southampton are keen on a move for
Harry Winks, who along with Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele has been left out
of Tottenham’s tour to South Korea.
Lo Celso could also be
in line for a return to Villarreal, where he was on loan last season.
Meanwhile, Winks started just nine top-flight matches for Spurs last term as Antonio Conte preferred a midfield pairing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur in the second half of the campaign.
With Tottenham bringing
in Yves Bissouma this summer, plus Oliver Skipp returning from injury, Winks is
now surplus to requirements, and looks set to move on from his boyhood club.
Southampton are keen to
bolster their squad in the middle of the park, and have identified Winks as a
transfer target.
The Saints are also
interested in Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.
The Frenchman had an
outstanding campaign for the Ligue 1 outfit last term, netting 21 league goals,
but he has just entered the final year of his deal at the club. Southampton
could look to take advantage of his current contract situation.
It could be a case of
one in, one out up front at St Mary's this summer as Nottingham Forest are
considering a move for Che Adams.
Adams joined
Southampton in 2019, and has scored 20 Premier League goals in his three
seasons at the club.
He has been unable to
hit double figures in a single league campaign for Ralph Hasenhuttl's men, but
has done enough to catch the eye of Forest, who could turn to him to spearhead
their attack as they prepare to return to the Premier League for the first time
this century.
