Juventus complete signing of Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic

Juventus have signed Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serbia international completed his medical on Friday.

Vlahovic, 22, made it clear that he would not extend a contract at Fiorentina which expires in 2023. Fiorentina made it known that they wanted €70 million for him, amid interest from clubs across Europe.

Vlahovic has been one of the most in-demand players of the January transfer window, with The Athletic reporting Arsenal’s strong interest earlier this month.

He will join a Juventus attack which also boasts Alvaro Morata, Paulo Dybala, and Moise Kean. Morata, however, has been linked with Barcelona in recent days.

Vlahovic burst onto the scene in the 2020-21 season, scoring 21 goals. The forward has already nearly overtaken that total this campaign, scoring 17 times in 21 Serie A appearances, as well as managing four assists.

He is the latest name to swap Florence for Turin, with Federico Chiesa and Federico Bernadeschi making similarly high-priced moves to Juventus in recent seasons.

Speaking about Fiorentina’s decision to sell earlier this week, Fiorentina's sporting director Daniele Prade told Sportitalia: It's an important valuation, over €70 million as a lump sum with no swap deals and no payment structures. The president (Rocco Commisso) has imposed it on us.

All of our doors are open in this situation, because we need to understand what the players and his agents really want to do.

Juventus are fifth in Serie A, one point off the Champions League places. They are 11 points behind leaders Inter Milan.
