Report: Serge Gnabry could be on chopping block at Bayern Munich

Serge Gnabry of FC Bayern Muenchen celebrates after scoring their side's fifth goal and their hat trick during the Bundesliga match between VfB Stuttgart and FC Bayern München at Mercedes-Benz Arena on December 14, 2021 in Stuttgart, Germany.

According to report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich could be contemplating a sale of Germany international Serge Gnabry.

Despite his talent level, it might not be so easy to find a willing trade partner — or a way to convince Gnabry to leave the club:

Serge Gnabry may have played his last game for Bayern as he’s a candidate for sale this summer. The club needs a breath of fresh air in the wing positions and would be willing to listen to offers for Gnabry.

However, offloading the 28-year old won’t be an easy task as it’s questionable whether there will be interested parties willing to pay a big package for the player. In addition, Gnabry, under contract until 2026, still feels comfortable in Munich and would have to agree to a move. The new coach will play an important role in the decision.

Gnabry, like Leon Goretzka, has a strong affinity for the club and an extreme amount of comfort with where he lives. While Bayern Munich does need to refresh its attacking group, it could find selling off Gnabry or Kingsley Coman extremely hard.
