Daniel Farke aims to lead by example to guide his Leeds United players back to winning ways in the final three games of this most extraordinary Championship promotion race - and feels there recent setbacks will help his young squad to develop 'mental steel'.
After setting a blistering pace throughout the season, Leeds, Leicester City and Ipswich Town have stumbled somewhat of late, with the Whites' 1-0 home defeat to Blackburn Rovers meaning they have picked up just five points from the last 15 available. Farke has twice won promotion from this division with Norwich City, and knows now it the time for cool heads.
And he is looking to develop that same attitude in his squad, many of whom are experience the pressure that comes with a promotion push in a Leeds United shirt for the first time.
"It's a different scenario," he said when asked about the mounting pressing. "It's challenging. This is an emotional club with a great history. I love to work for this, but the shirt can be heavy because of the expectation, especially for young players.
"I have to lead by example. We want to make sure we are as successful as possible so we need hard nerves."
Leeds have a young squad, which can lead to fears over inexperience, especially at such a pivotal time of the season. But Farke prefers to focus on the advantages of having such a fresh group of players.

"They're great guys," he added. "Young guys can be inexperienced, or feel sorry for themselves when the world is against them.
"That's team we have. A crunch period can demand more physical strength or maturity, but we have other advantages. For that, I don't complain about this.. Two games without scoring will not have me questioning the players' character. It will develop more mental steel in them."
