Real Madrid are shaping up to become a real force to reckon with. They are running away with La Liga and are well-placed in the UCL, and the team’s current success only makes the upcoming summer more exciting.
Adding Kylian Mbappe, Alphonso Davies and Leny Yoro to a squad that already boasts innumerable champions will only elevate the level of Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Needless to say, there are exciting times for Real Madrid fans across the globe.
Speaking to the media in a recent interaction, Real Madrid legend Luis Figo commented on Real Madrid’s squad and the potential addition of Kylian Mbappe to the mix next season.
“Mbappé to Real Madrid? Real Madrid of the Galactico 1.0 was not so bad, 2.0 will not be so bad either,” he said (h/t Fox Sports).
Los Blancos are already perennial favourites in any competition they lay foot into. The foundation of a great team is in place, with most positions on the field sorted for the long term.
Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni and Jude Bellingham can rule the team’s midfield for the coming decade at least, while Endrick, Rodrygo Goes, Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe will form a formidable unit up front.
Adding Alphonso Davies and Leny Yoro to the defensive line that already boasts of Eder Militao will only complete a champion team. The right-back thus remains the only position unaccounted for.
Calling this the new Galactico lineup is thus completely warranted and deserved.
While Kylian Mbappe may be the talk of the town in Madrid after his move in June, Jude Bellingham will remain one of the team’s poster boys after his phenomenal start to life in the team.
The youngster’s adaptation to life in a new country and league has been nothing short of phenomenal, and Figo reiterated the same in an interview earlier this week.
“I was surprised by the adaptation, but not the quality because I know him. It is logical that when you arrive at a club, you need to adapt, but he did it and everything is very easy and good for the club and him,” the club legend said on Bellingham.
With the coming generation promising to be a terrifying unit on paper, it remains to be seen if they can exceed the greatness of the team’s last set of Galacticos who ruled Europe. Needless to say, the potential is there.
