“I want to score the decisive goal against PSG, in the second leg. A goal that gives us the win.”

Fermin Lopez of FC Barcelona celebrates scoring his team's third goal with teammate Lamine Yamal during the LaLiga EA Sports match between Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona at Civitas Metropolitano Stadium on March 17, 2024 in Madrid, Spain.

Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal has today provided an insight into his personal hopes for the club’s upcoming showdown with Paris Saint-Germain.

Xavi’s Barca, of course, were made aware of their fate on the continent late last week.
After sending Italian champions Napoli packing in the competition’s Last-16, the Blaugrana were handed a Champions League quarter-final tie with the aforementioned PSG.

The draw is considered a largely balanced one, with neutrals from across the continent in disagreement when it comes to just who should be considered favourites to advance.

One member of the Barcelona squad who is desperate to prove himself decisive in the Catalans marching on to the final four of the Champions League, though, is Lamine Yamal.

Speaking in an interview with Marca on Tuesday, wide-man Lamine was drawn on his hopes for the club’s return to European action next month.

And the Spanish international, still just 16 years of age, went on to respond:
“I want to score the decisive goal against PSG, in the second leg. A goal that gives us the win.”
