The FC Barcelona defender and captain Ronald Araujo has been in the news for different reasons for the last few months, primarily because of his links with Bayern Munich, but he was in the highlights last night for a very different reason.
This is because the presentation of his documentary “Origins”, which is set to be released in April for Barca One, was held last night, and the event was attended by several people associated with the Catalan club, including the President, Joan Laporta.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, Araujo also talked to the media at this event, and was hopeful about the team’s chances in the two remaining titles, i.e., La Liga and Champions League:
“Despite the injuries we have to very important players, I believe we have a very good team, and we have a lot of confidence in the work we are doing. We started the season with four titles, and we have two very important ones left. We must take it step by step, but we will face it head-on and give our all until the end of the season.”
The Uruguayan was also positive about the team’s chances in the upcoming match against Napoli in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg:
“There are high expectations. We know the responsibility of playing that match, I believe we played a good game in Naples and even deserved to win. We’ll give it our all, we’re playing at home with our fans, and we’re ready for it.”
Talking about the Champions League, the Uruguayan defender went on to admit that it was a dream for him to win this title with Barcelona:
“The truth is, it’s a dream, it’s an objective of ours, of the club, and of the team as well, but we have to take it step by step. Right now, we’re focused on the Napoli match, and then we’ll take it step by step, but of course, it’s a dream and it’s the big goal for all of us.”
As things stand, it looks extremely difficult for Barcelona to win the premier European competition. However, this tournament has been full of miracles, and Barcelona and Araujo can definitely hope for one in their favor.
