Arsenal and Liverpool monitoring Wolves defender

Rayan Ait-Nouri of Wolverhampton Wanderers poses for a portrait in the Wolverhampton Wanderers 2023/24 Third Kit on July 23, 2023 in Faro, Portugal.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently top of the Premier League table, two points clear of reigning champions Manchester City, rivals Arsenal, and surprise package Aston Villa.

The German will be hoping to see his side extend their advantage at the top of the table, although the Reds will have to do it without talisman Mohamed Salah who is currently on international duty with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations.

With the transfer window now in full swing, it appears that Liverpool could be set to battle Arsenal off the pitch in the race to sign a Premier League defender.
In total the left-back has made 97 appearances for the Midlands club across all competitions, including 82 in the Premier League.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool are said to be considering a move for the Morocco international as they look to bolster their respective defences.

Despite their interest, the report claims that Ait-Nouri is almost certain to stay put at Molineux beyond the current January transfer window, although Wolves could be tempted to cash in on him this summer.

The Moroccan’s versatiliity will likely appeal to both Liverpool and Arsenal, as he is able to operate as a left-back, left wing-back, or even as a left winger.

Ait-Nouri’s current contract with Wolves is set to run until the summer of 2026, so Wolves could decide to cash in on him this summer when interest will be rife.

According to Football Insider, both clubs are interested in Wolves full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri.

The 22-year-old joined Wolves from French side Angers back in 2020, initially on loan, before making the move permanent in the summer of 2021.
