US international Emmanuel Sabbi has scored two first-half goals to lead Le Havre to a surprise 3-1 win over Nice in a match both sides finished with 10 men.
Second-placed Nice had conceded only six goals in their previous 15 matches but trailed 3-0 after little more than 50 minutes of the clash at Stade Oceane.
Sabbi struck in the fifth and 35th minutes, finding the net for the first time for promoted Le Havre having joined in the off-season on a four-year deal from Danish club Odense.
Mohamed Bayo made it 3-0 from the penalty spot early in the second half after Melvin Bard fouled Hungary defender Loic Nego.
Midfielder Tom Louchet scored an added-time consolation for Nice, after both sides had a player dismissed with nine minutes remaining.
Northern side Lens extended their unbeaten league run to 11 and moved up to fifth place – 10 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain – with a 2-0 home win over Reims 2-0.
Lens took the lead close to halftime through forward Wesley Said and secured the win in the 75th minute when Colombia forward Oscar Cortes headed in his first goal for the club.
After starting the campaign with four defeats in five games, Lens have not lost in the league since September 16.
