Real Madrid handed Alphonso Davies transfer boost

Alphonso Davies of FC Bayern Munchen dribbles with the ball during the UEFA Champions League Quarterfinal Second Leg match between FC Bayern Munchen and Manchester City at the Allianz Arena on April 19, 2023 in Munich, Germany.

Real Madrid have been linked with a number of high-profile names in recent times. Alphonso Davies certainly falls under that category. The Bayern Munich player’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2025 and it is believed that Los Blancos could try to sign him next year if he does not end up agreeing a new contract with the Bundesliga champions by then.

Davies has been considered one of the brightest young talents in world football for a long time now. His development at Bayern Munich has not been as rapid as was expected though.

He put European football on notice with an incredible breakout campaign with Bayern Munich a few years back, as they won the Champions League. Has he improved much since then?

As a result, Davies could do with a change of scenery. And Real Madrid’s hopes of signing him have been handed a boost.

As reported by SPORT1, the contract talks between Bayern Munich and the Davies management are on hold. The club want to extend his deal. But they must convince his advisor Nick Househ with a concrete sporting and economic plan.

This is good news for Real Madrid. The longer Davies stays at Bayern Munich without signing a new contract, the more likely the club would be to let him go. They surely would not want a repeat of the David Alaba situation, who joined Los Blancos as a free agent a couple of summers back.

Someone like Davies could be an excellent addition to Real Madrid. They are not the strongest at left-back at the moment. The club did bring in Fran Garcia from Rayo Vallecano in the summer and he seems to be the starter. On the other hand, Ferland Mendy continues to struggle to remain fit and there are rumours that the club are looking to part ways with the Frenchman.
