Former Chelsea stars Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud have helped make it two from two as AC Milan maintained their 100 per cent start to the season in Italy’s Serie A.
There was more disappointment for Roma, though, as Jose Mourinho’s side lost 2-1 at Hellas Verona, while Serie B champions Frosinone upset Atalanta 2-1 and Monza beat Empoli 2-0.
After making a goalscoring debut last weekend, US international Pulisic found the net again in his first match at San Siro to set the Rossoneri on their way to a 4-1 win over Torino on Saturday.
His former Stamford Bridge teammate Giroud converted two penalties to take his tally to three goals in the first two matches, while Theo Hernandez also got on the scoresheet.
Perr Schuurs scored a consolation for Torino, who have yet to win this season.
Nothing went right for Roma in Verona.
As well as losing, Paulo Dybala and Nicola Zalewski went off injured.
Verona, who avoided relegation only through a play-off last season, were surprisingly 2-0 up at halftime following goals from Ondrej Duda and Cyril Ngonge.
Roma coach Mourinho was still sitting out a touchline ban, leaving stand-in coach Bruno Conti to make a triple change at the break.
One of those substitutions, Houssem Aouar, had an almost immediate impact as he netted his first Serie A goal in the 56th minute.
Roma almost snatched a draw after Verona defender Isak Hien was sent off for a second yellow card six minutes from time.
From the resulting free kick, Lorenzo Pellegrini struck the underside of the crossbar, the second time Roma hit the woodwork in the match, but it was not to be.
Abdou Harroui and Ilario Monterisi scored early to give newly promoted Frosinone a 2-0 halftime lead against Atalanta before Duvan Zapata ensured an anxious last half-an-hour by pulling one back for the visitors after the break.
Frosinone hung on, though, to clinch their first victory back in Italy’s top-flight.
