Ricardo Kaka spent six wonderful years in the Rossoneri colours playing alongside Paolo Maldini, as the duo went on to conquer Italy and Europe in remarkable manner.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Rossonera (via MilanNews, the Brazilian trequartista revealed the admiration he possesses for the legendary left-back, who many consider to be the greatest ever in that position.
“I’m delighted to see Paolo who is doing very well as a manager. Not that I already knew it, but I already imagined it since he was playing . For how he is made, for his will, for his character and for the way in which he faces life and football. It was great to see him win the Scudetto last year. I am very pleased with him and for me he is an example. He is back in football after 10 years and maybe it will take that time for me too.”
Kaka further shed light on his managerial future in the beautiful game, as he hopes to emulate Maldini.
“Now for 5 years now I have stopped playing, I have studied a little football because I wanted to learn things also outside but through football. I have seen that to do a good job in this sport you have to take a lot of time and work. For the moment I really want to be close to my family. I don’t think my return to football will be soon, but probably in the future, yes.”
Kaka’s comments reflect the high regard that Maldini is held in among fans, players, and fellow professionals alike, and demonstrate the positive impact he has had on AC Milan’s recent success.
Milan have witnessed a steady growth in sporting strategy since Maldini’s appointment in the summer of 2018, making their way to the top of Serie A and also going deep into the UEFA Champions League, as few would have expected.
