Elche remain the only winless team in the Spanish league after losing at home to 10-man Getafe.

It was the eighth defeat in 12 matches for Elche, who are rock-bottom of La Liga having conceded a league-high 27 goals and scored just eight.

Trailing 1-0, the hosts passed up a chance of earning a fourth draw in the last five games when striker Lucas Boye missed an 87th-minute penalty.

Enes Unal scored what proved to be the winner in the 54th minute for Getafe – without a win in their previous five matches – who moved up to 14th.

The visitors played a man down from the 78th minute after defender Jordan Amavi was sent off.

Leaders Real Madrid were surprisingly held at home by struggling Girona on Sunday, leaving them a point ahead of second-placed Barcelona, who won 1-0 at Valencia on Saturday.
