Rangers defender Connor Goldson faces "some months" out following the thigh injury he sustained against Liverpool.
The 29-year-old came off in the first half of the Ibrox side's 7-1 Champions League loss, when the score was still 1-1.
Goldson, who has made 240 appearances since joining Rangers in 2018, signed a new four-year contract in the summer.
"It's a long-term injury," manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst told Sky Sports.
"He has a muscular problem in his thigh so he will be out for some months. It's a big blow for us because I don't think he missed any matches since I came here, only when we rested him.
"[His is a] Very influential role. You can see the performances he has for this team, his vocal presence in the back. You could see when he left the pitch on Wednesday, we had to communicate more. Other players need to step up and take that role."
Van Bronckhorst, however, has been boosted by the news that defender Ben Davies has overcome a knock picked up against Liverpool while forward Kemar Roofe is nearing a return.
"He had a knock but I think he'll be fine for tomorrow," Van Bronckhorst said of Davies.
"Kemar is pretty close. He's' been out training now for a couple of weeks with the first team. Probably we'll see him feature in the cup game [against Dundee] hopefully in midweek."
