Bayern Munich tear apart Bochum 7-0 in German league

Relentless Bayern Munich hammered Bochum 7-0 in a Sunday German Bundesliga match, staying atop the league standings.

German winger Leroy Sane netted the first goal of the match in the fourth minute at Bochum’s Vonovia Ruhrstadion.

Visitors’ Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt then scored a header after a corner kick in the 25th minute. It was de Ligt’s first Bundesliga goal.

Bayern Munich’s French winger Kingsley Coman finished after a rebound by Bochum goalkeeper, while Senegalese star Sadio Mane scored on a counterattack, making it 4-0 before halftime.

Mane added another goal, but this time it was from a penalty kick in the 60th minute.

Bochum defender Cristian Gamboa made a sliding tackle on Sane but scored an own goal.

German winger Serge Gnabry’s low shot from a narrow angle hit the post but went inside the 76th minute and Bayern Munich took an extravagant 7-0 win.

The Bundesliga leaders have nine points in three weeks. They scored 15 goals but conceded one in the 2022-23 Bundesliga campaign.

Bochum, ranked 18th, in the last spot, have lost all their three matches.
