Inter anxious after Gosens injury in friendly

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi and Inter midfielder Robin Gosens (18) after the Serie A football match n.29 TORINO - INTER on March 13, 2022 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in Turin, Piedmont, Italy. Final result: Torino-Inter 1-1.

Inter are a little concerned about Robin Gosens after he suffered a minor injury in the pre-season friendly against Monaco.

The 28-year-old German wing back hardly featured for the Nerazzurri last season after suffering a serious hamstring injury back in September.

He didn’t play a full 90 minutes under Simone Inzaghi but the hope was that he’d be in full fitness for the upcoming season.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Gosens was forced off after the first half of the pre-season friendly against Monaco due to a slight muscle injury in his left thigh.

Whilst the issue itself is nothing serious, it will force him to stay on the sidelines in training for a little bit, delaying his recovery even further.

Gosens is therefore in doubt for Inter’s upcoming friendly against Lens on Sunday and the club are hoping that he’ll still be able to reach full fitness ahead of their first game of the upcoming season against Lecce on August 13.
