Bayern Munich’s Poland captain Robert Lewandowski has set yet another record.
His goal for the newly-recrowned champions in a 3-1 defeat at Mainz was his 18th away from home in the current Bundesliga season.
That lifted him clear of Jupp Heynckes (17 with Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1973-74) and Chelsea striker Timo Werner (17 in 2019-20 with RB Leipzig).
Lewandowski is the league’s leading marksman with 34 goals.
