Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is reportedly prepared to let go of Sergio Reguilon in the summer amid interest from FC Barcelona.

According to a recent report from Football Insider, Antonio Conte wants Tottenham Hotspur to listen to offers for Sergio Reguilon. The Italian does not rate the player highly and is hoping to raise some funds for new signings using his sale in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Reguilon has been an ever-present figure in the Tottenham defence since arriving from Real Madrid in 2020. He has racked up 65 competitive appearances for the club, bagging nine assists.

While the Spaniard’s performances have been incredible, at times, he has broadly struggled for consistency. His struggles in defence have been questioned multiple times in the past, while the defender has failed to offer the desired impact upfront, especially in contrast to what he had shown in Spain, especially at Sevilla.

It has compelled Antonio Conte to consider a sale in the summer, with the Italian keen on adding fresh faces to his Tottenham side next season. The Lilywhites have been in contention to sign RB Leipzig starlet Angelino, another Spaniard who is known for his ability to offer width going forward.

Spurs are considering a move for another RB Leipzig defender in Josko Gvardiol. The Croat is a centre-back by trade, but he is capable of operating as a left-back. His defensive nature could add more variety to the Tottenham backline, although Conte is ideally looking for a player that can add the impetus going forward.

Tottenham’s likely sale of Reguilon in the summer, though, could serve as a major boost for Barcelona. The Blaugrana are gunning for a new left-back in the summer amid fears over the longevity of their veteran star Jordi Alba.

Xavi has identified Fran Garcia as a potential option for next season, but he has remained keen on securing the services of Reguilon as well. The former Real Madrid star offers a lot more experience at the highest level of football and has even featured for the Spanish national team six times.

However, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to demand hefty fees for Reguilon, as the 25-year-old’s contract in north London does not expire until 2025. With Conte expecting to add new signings using his sale, Barcelona may have to cough in excess of €30 million to secure the Spaniard’s services in the summer.
