UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin on Thursday called an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee "to evaluate the situation" and "take all necessary decisions" after Russia's military intervention in Ukraine.
The meeting will be held on Friday, UEFA said on Twitter.
The military action has put at risk the 2022 UEFA Champions League final scheduled to take place at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg on May 28.
The European football's governing body earlier told Anadolu Agency that it is "closely monitoring the situation" between the two countries.
UEFA is constantly and closely monitoring the situation and any decision would be made in due course if necessary.
UEFA has already postponed the Youth League match between Dynamo Kyiv and Sporting Lisbon, which was slated for March 2 in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv.
