Frank Lampard believes that having a director of football at Everton could be "very good" if the club are able to find the right fit for the potential role.
The Blues have been without anyone in that position at the club since the departure of Marcel Brands in December 2021, following over three years in the job.
After the Dutchman left Merseyside, Everton confirmed that they would be conducting a "strategic review" regarding the structure of the club in the future,
With that still underway - and the vacant DoF position retained - Lampard has been asked whether the model is something he thinks he can work with in the future.
The manager revealed that he would be very happy to work with the right candidate if that's the decision the club are to make in the future.
He said: I think the model can look different depending on the club.
At the moment, as I said before, I've got a very good relationship with the chairman and the owner.
I think it can be very good as long as each department within that hierarchy is aligned.
Of course everyone wants the best, but practically you have to work in a similar direction.
That relationship between myself and a sporting director, it will be very important to know our roles and to work together for the good of the club.
If you get that right it can be very good, and that's why the club have to take time to get the right one and the right person if they see fit.
It's a fantastic club, and if you get the right fit for that I will certainly be very happy working with anyone who can help this club be more successful.
