Ajax boss Erik ten Hag's agent was approached by Manchester United over the possibility of becoming the Red Devils latest manager.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under mounting pressure at Old Trafford as his side continues their poor run of form.

United have lost to both Manchester City and Liverpool in recent weeks as the Red Devils have continued to slide down the table.

And Ten Hag has been continually linked with the role after impressing at the Amsterdam-based club in the Champions League.

However, according to The Sun, Ten Hag did not want to discuss any hypothetical openings with his agent.

Ten Hag took over at Ajax in 2017 after spending a couple of years at Utrecht and learning from Pep Guardiola as part of his backroom staff at Bayern Munich.

The 51-year-old was at the helm of Ajax's historic 18/19 Champions League run, when the side were 90 minutes away from the final.

However, after being gutted for their best players, Ajax are back this season and they have sailed through the Group Stage.

And with their recent upturn in European fortunes, Ten Hag looks set to stay put in Amsterdam, for now.
