Hoffenheim have brought Hertha Berlin's short Bundesliga resurgence to an end with a 2-0 win over the visitors.
Croatia forward Andrej Kramaric opened the scoring after a slow start in the 19th minute off a low cross from Robert Skov, his ninth goal against Hertha in 11 games he has played against them.
The goal boosted the hosts and Sebastian Rudy drilled home the second in the 36th on the rebound of Skov's blast against the far right post.
Hertha's misery was complete when captain Dedryck Boyata was sent off for a studs-up challenge against Angelo Stiller with 14 minutes left, following a video review after Boyata had earlier been booked.
Hoffenheim have lost only one of their last 12 games against Hertha, winning eight and drawing three.
They climbed four places into seventh while Hertha, who had their three-game winning run snapped with the loss, dropped one to 11th.

"We were good in one-on-one situations and we forced many bad passes from them which we turned into scoring chances. It is a highly deserved win," Rudy told streaming portal DAZN.
Hertha coach Pal Dardai said: "Going home with a 2-0 defeat is not nice. We gave away too much in the first half. We couldn't take every risk after the red card. Hoffenheim were deserved winners."
Matchday 10 continues at the weekend with leaders Bayern Munich at fifth-placed Union Berlin, a few days after the powerhouse's historic 5-0 meltdown against Borussia Moenchengladbach in the German Cup.
