Stoppage-time goal gives Celta La Liga win

Denis Suarez of Celta Vigo celebrates with teammates after scoring their team's first goal during the LaLiga Santander match between RC Celta de Vigo and Granada CF at Abanca-Balaídos on September 27, 2021 in Vigo, Spain.

Denis Suarez has scored four minutes into stoppage time for Celta Vigo in a 1-0 defeat of Granada 1-0 in La Liga.

Substitute Suarez netted the winner from inside the area after an assist by Santi Mina to secure Celta their second consecutive win.

The goal came a few moments after Granada nearly broke the deadlock with a couple of opportunities that were kept out by Celta goalkeeper Matias Dituro.

The hosts got the victory despite Iago Aspas missing a 73rd-minute penalty, with his shot saved by Granada goalkeeper Luis Maximiano.

Aspas had converted his past nine penalty kicks in league matches, with his last miss in June last year.

Celta are 13th on seven points from as many matches while the result kept Granada winless this season, although they did move up one place to 18th.
