Marcelo Bielsa delivers injury update on five Leeds players ahead of Newcastle clash, four missing

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa during the Premier League match between Burnley and Leeds United at Turf Moor on August 29, 2021 in Burnley, England.

Marcelo Bielsa has given an injury update on five of his Leeds United players ahead of Friday’s game against Newcastle – as per Leeds Live.

Leeds take on Newcastle on Friday and will be looking to get their first win of the season. He has picked up just two points from a possible 12.

However, Leeds are struggling for options at centre-back ahead of the clash at Newcastle. Pascal Struijk is suspended after his tackle on Harvey Elliott.

Robin Koch is suffering with a groin injury, while Diego Llorente also has a muscular injury. Patrick Bamford has overcome a hamstring problem.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Friday’s trip north, Bielsa confirmed the news on the four players – and discussed Adam Forshaw.

“Of the four centre-backs that we have, we are not able to count on Diego, Pascal or Koch but we’re in conditions to resolve the issue,” Bielsa said.

“Bamford has no difficulties and Forshaw is finishing the recovery of his injury. For next game, available,” Bielsa continued, as per Leeds Live.
