Premier League star arrested over alleged child sex offences

An unnamed Premier League footballer has been arrested by police over alleged child sex offences.

The news was first reported by The Mirror, which claimed the player is a first-team regular who also features frequently on the international level.

A statement from Greater Manchester Police, read: “Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on Friday 16 July 2021 on suspicion of child sex offences.

“He is on police bail pending further enquiries.”

The player’s name or club have not been revealed due to legal reasons.

Everton released a club statement on Monday (AEST) stating one of their players had been suspended. IMG-20210720-073431-720

“Everton can confirm it has suspended a First-Team player pending a police investigation. The Club will continue to support the authorities with their inquiries and will not be making any further statement at this time.”

Footballflame.com.ng makes no suggestion the man arrested by police on alleged child sex offences is an Everton player.
