Jesse Lingard of West Ham United celebrates after scoring their team's first goal during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Leicester City at London Stadium on April 11, 2021 in London, England.

Atletico Madrid are ready to join the race to sign Jesse Lingard if Manchester United decide to let him go this summer.

The 28-year-old has reported back for pre-season training at Old Trafford amid doubts over his future.

Now LaLiga champions Atletico have expressed an interest, according to 90min.

West Ham are still keen on signing Lingard, with the England star keen to move in the search of regular game time.

Lingard is due to hold talks with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with just a year left on his current contract.

Manchester United are prepared to offer Lingard a new deal worth £130,000-a-week, with West Ham struggling to meet the asking price of £25m.

In addition, if Lingard signs the contract United will have the option to trigger another year on his deal.

Lingard caught the eye on loan at West Ham in the second half of last season as he scored nine goals and provided five assists in 16 games.

The 28-year-old fell out of favour at United but could now be set for an extended stay at the club as he looks to regain his place in the England squad.

Lingard was named in Gareth Southgate's provisional 33-man squad for Euro 2020 but was unable to make the cut for the final selection of 26 players.
