Thomas Tuchel sends Liverpool warning to Chelsea ahead of West Ham clash

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has sent a warning to his team over Liverpool.

The Blues are preparing for one of the biggest games of their season, facing top-four rivals West Ham United at 5.30pm today at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea and the Hammers are just eight goals apart in the league table, level on points and desperately scrapping for a top four spot, and they are not the only clubs in the race.

Tottenham and Liverpool are also waiting in the wings, hoping for one of the two clubs above them to slip up, currently two points behind, though Spurs have played a game more.

And as Chelsea hope to strengthen their top-four hopes with a win over West Ham, Tuchel was warned his men that Liverpool won't stop applying pressure between now and the season's end.

"Yes, I think so," Tuchel told Chelsea's 5th Stand App when asked about whether the race will go to the wire.

He added: "I do not have the feeling this race is over. Liverpool will not stop doing everything in their power to grab a place in the top four, so I think, if you look at our fixtures, we have so many crucial games coming up.

"It's a tight schedule and we have tough games coming up.

"We have to turn the situation around, we started the situation together with a huge gap between us and Liverpool and now we arrive in a game like this in fourth place, and it is in our hands.

"That's the good news, and the bad news is we have to show it every three days, again and again."

The clash with the Hammers is one of the big tests remaining for Chelsea in the race for top four, though Tuchel's men still have to face Arsenal, Manchester City and Leicester City.
