Breaking: Jamal Musiala officially signs new Bayern Munich contract

Jamal Musiala of FC Bayern München celebrates scoring the 2nd team goal during the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match between Lazio Roma and Bayern München at Olimpico Stadium on February 23, 2021 in Rome, Italy.

It’s official. After weeks of rumours about Jamal Musiala’s contract situation, Bayern Munich has announced that Musiala has signed a new five-year contract until 2026.

This news comes off the back of Musiala deciding his international future lies with Germany and not England, a decision which clearly was influenced by his intentions to stay at Bayern.

This season, Musiala has been the breakthrough player for Bayern, going from being a largely unknown youngster in August, to starting and starring in Champions League games come February. Musiala has established himself as a world class talent and is already one of Hansi Flick’s first options off the bench and a backup in both the winger and Thomas Muller’s CAM position. It’s clear that Musiala has the talent to even become one of the world’s best players so Bayern should be delighted that they have secured their man for the foreseeable future.

On his new contract, Musiala thanked Hansi Flick and others at the club for trusting in him and showcased a desire to become a key player for Bayern in the future.

“I’m really pleased to have signed my first professional contract at FC Bayern. I just feel very good at the club and in the team, I’m playing with the best players in the world and I can learn from them every day in training,” said Musiala. “Hansi Flick, Hasan Salihamidzic and Marco Neppe along with the whole club have believed in me and given me the chance very early on. I just want to repay that faith with good performances, keep getting better and win a lot more titles with FC Bayern. My aim is to become an important player for this club.”

Let’s hope that Musiala can continue delivering great performances for the Reds in the future. If what we’ve seen from the 18-year-old so far is any indication, we are in for a real treat.
