Neymar will miss PSG's huge Champions League clash with his former side Barcelona next Tuesday and is expected to be out for a month.
The Brazilian limped out of the French side's victory over Caen on Wednesday evening having gone down after a crunching tackle early in the second half.
Fears that he would be out of action for the last-16 first leg next week have now been confirmed by L'Equipe and scans on Wenesday morning revealed the injury was a grade two groin strain.

He looked immensely frustrated and complained to the fourth official while limping to the sidelines.
The forward was substituted and reportedly taken from the stadium in a van before the game's conclusion.
On Wednesday morning he underwent the scans and tests at a hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine where the extent of the damage was exposed.
Neymar tweeted 'honour and glory to God at all times' after the game and he'll be desperately disappointed to miss out on a trip back to the Nou Camp, his old stomping ground.

Neymar has been persistently linked to a return to the club over the last few years but they now lack the financial clout to sign him.
He was instrumental in the Champions League comeback win for Barcelona over PSG in 2017, overturning a 4-0 first-leg deficit to win 6-1.
The return leg of the game next month is on March 10 so it will be a race against time for the 29-year-old to be fit again.
