Chelsea have reportedly placed an £80million price-tag on midfielder N’Golo Kante amid rumoured interest from Inter Milan.
Inter boss Antonio Conte signed Kante from Leicester City when he was Blues manager and the pair won the Premier League title and the FA Cup together.
And, according to The Express, he wants to reunite with the Frenchman at the San Siro ahead of next season.
It has been suggested that Conte would like the midfielder on loan with a view to a permanent deal further down thpe line.
The report claims Frank Lampard and Blues chiefs are not keen to sell Kante and have placed a massive £80m valuation on his head.
Chelsea are still looking to raise funds for two more signings after already forking out on Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva.
Kai Havertz is believed to be close to signing from Bayer Leverkusen, while others are still in the pipeline.
Inter need to sell to raise their own funds but Conte is also eyeing other Chelsea stars, it is claimed.
Full-back Emerson Palmieri and striker Olivier Giroud are two other players that he would like to sign ahead of the new season.
Italy international Palmieri looks set to leave Stamford Bridge anyway after the signing of Ben Chilwell, while Giroud could also find himself down the pecking order.
Inter are also interested in Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele but have been told that he will cost £55m.
Meanwhile Blues target Havertz is unlikely to train with Bayer Leverkusen again, according to the German side’s head coach Peter Bosz, as he closes on a £90m move.
Lampard has been chasing the attacking midfielder for weeks and finally looks like getting his man in the coming days.
Havertz is currently with the German national team ahead of their Nations League fixtures against Spain and Switzerland this week.
Asked if he expected the 21-year-old to return to Leverkusen at the end of the international break, Bosz said: "Unfortunately our squad isn't set yet. I don't expect (Kevin) Volland and Havertz to train with us again.
"It's possible more players will transfer. We definitely still have to add some players."
