According to recent reports, Manchester City are ‘thinking’ about making a move for Juventus full-back Alex Sandro.
A report by Italian newspaper Tuttosport (via Sport Witness) claims that there is a ‘growing interest’ in the left-back from Pep Guardiola’s side, as well as stating that it has ‘become a habit’ for City to sign a full-back every summer.
The latter point is probably something to do with the fact that City signed Joao Cancelo from Juventus last year, as well as reportedly holding an interest in Sandro previously.
However, it is also stated that the defender would ‘seriously consider’ an offer from City were it to materialise, while the positive relationship between Juventus and Manchester City could ‘facilitate the operation’.
The 29-year-old has been at Juventus since 2015, and has gone on to make 198 appearances for the Old Lady, scoring 11 goals and providing 26 assists along the way.
Last term, the left-back featured 29 times in Serie A, scoring one goal and providing three assists, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.97/10 – ranking him as the club’s seventh-best performer in the league.
While the reports do not state a figure that Juventus would be willing to accept, should City actually be interested in making a move for Sandro this summer, the player is currently valued at £36 million by Transfermarkt, suggesting the deal would not likely be a cheap one.
