Pulisic vows to be ‘back in no time’ after suffering hamstring injury

Chelsea's US midfielder Christian Pulisic (3R) leaves the pitch injured during the English FA Cup final football match between Arsenal and Chelsea at Wembley Stadium in London, on August 1, 2020.

Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has vowed to be ‘back in no time’ after he was forced to come off during Saturday’s FA Cup Final with a hamstring injury.

The USA international had put Chelsea ahead inside five minutes, but was forced off 49 minutes.

Pulisic is now a serious doubt for Chelsea’s Champions League Last 16 second leg clash away at Bayern Munich, but with the Blues already 3-0 down in the tie their task was already challenging.

But reflecting on Sunday’s defeat to Arsenal at Wembley, Pulisic was trying to be optimistic.

Posting on Instagram, Pulisic said: “Gave it everything we had. Wasn’t our day.. thank you guys for your support I’ll be back in no time”

Chelsea also lost Cesar Azpilicueta to a hamstring injury as they lost 2-1 at Wembley on Saturday evening.

“I don't know the full extent of the injuries,” said Lampard after the match. “But I know the hamstrings with Azpi and Christian - they have to be scanned and assessed over the next few days.

"They clearly won't be fit for next week [against Bayern Munich in the Champions League]."
