The latest update on the contract saga between Arsenal and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a positive one and has been called a case of 'when not if'.
Arsenal are desperate to tie the forward down to a new deal with his current one set to expire next summer.
They are keen on avoiding situations in the past with players such as Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey.
The 31-year-old is one of Mikel Arteta's most important players, finishing the season with 29 goals.
But rumours over his future emerged over the season, with the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona interested.
However, a breakthrough in talks came over the summer and it now appears likely that Aubameyang has extended his contract.
Arsenal fans are still in the dark, though, with no official announcement just yet.
But Sky Sport's transfer guru Dharmesh Sheth has moved to quell any fears that talks have come to a halt.
When asked about Aubameyang's contract situation, he said: "The waiting does continue on that one. I am told it is close and the terms over a three year contract are being finalised.
"Now we are expecting that one to be signed and sorted soon. I was led to believe it as soon as recently as a week ago.
"Aubameyang has returned to first-team training ahead of the Saturday’s Community Shield.
"As far as Arsenal’s fans are concerned I don’t think there is any reason to worry just now.
"It looks like a case, rather like Gabriel, of when not if Aubameyang signs that contract."
Arsenal are close to the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille after beating Everton and Napoli to his signature.
It is a huge boost for Mikel Arteta, who was desperate to sign the Brazilian.
The Spaniard wants a left-footed centre-back to partner with William Saliba at the back next campaign.
It leaves the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Sokratis and Calum Chambers in the dark, though, over their futures.
David Luiz and Pablo Mari are set to be Arteta's back-up options in defence, while Rob Holding could be fifth-choice.
