Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has bought his own private golf course in new home plan.
The England international snapped up the greenfield site with the idea of building his own mansion on top of it.
The 22-year-old currently owns a six-bed home in Cheshire worth £1.85m.
But the Red Devils ace is keen on acquiring his own land in order to keep his property private.
It is quite the journey the youngster has made from his humble beginnings in Wythenshawe.
Rashford landed a new contract last summer worth £250,000-a-week as he was made a key player under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season.
And a source told The Sun : “Marcus understands that part of being a footballer is being a public figure and wants to use his position as a positive force.
“But he also wants to be able to go home, shut the door and live a peaceful life off the pitch.
“He thinks building a new house surrounded by greenery will give him the escape he needs.
“He doesn’t even play but I’m sure some of his teammates will be keen to come and whack a ball or two.”
Rashford has recently been working with children in poverty during the coronavirus crisis.
He has been working with charity FareShare UK during lockdown and has raised about £20million.
The England international says he "will keep fighting until no child in the UK has to worry about where their next meal is coming from".
He wrote: “The Government has taken a ‘whatever it takes’ approach to the economy - I’m asking you today to extend that same thinking to protecting all vulnerable children across England.
“I encourage you to hear their pleas and find your humanity. Please reconsider your decision to cancel the food voucher scheme over the summer holiday and guarantee the extension.
“This is England in 2020, and this is an issue that needs urgent assistance.
“Please, while the eyes of the nation are on you, make the U-turn and make protecting the lives of some of our most vulnerable a top priority.”
