Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool ‘not living in dreamland’ over transfers

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says the Anfield club won’t change their transfer transfer and are “not living in dreamland” over who they could sign this summer.

The Premier League champions have made just one signing so far this summer, with Greek left back Kostas Tsimikas arriving from Olympiacos for £11.7million, and Klopp has urged calm over speculation linking the Reds with numerous targets.

“I don't know what will happen to be honest, but there is a long time go until October 6 (the day after the window closes),” he told reporters . “We have brought in Kostas already. The kids are coming closer and closer, they have looked really well in pre-season.

“It will be interesting to see what other teams are doing but we are more or less in our situation, and will deal with our situation like we always have done. The philosophy of this club is pretty clear. We will see how much we can and want to spend, and all these kind of things.”

Liverpool Luis Suarez has dismissed the notion that his future at Barcelona is tied to what happens to Lionel Messi this summer.

Messi has made clear his desire to leave the Camp Nou with Suarez reportedly told by new Barca boss Ronald Koeman that he too is free to depart the Catalan club in the transfer window.

“I think that for Lucho (Suarez) it will greatly influence where Lio (Messi) goes to play,” Suarez’s former lawyer, Alejandro Balbi, told Superf Fútbol when asked whether Messi’s future could influence Suarez’s destination this summer.

Suarez hit back at such claims on his Instagram account , though, writing (in Spanish): “There are people speaking in my name or saying things about me, when I have not had a relationship (with them) for years. I speak when I have to speak for myself!!!”
