Lautaro’s agent plays down Barcelona transfer rumors

Lautaro Martínez of FC Internazionale celebrates after scoring his goal 1-0 ,during the Serie A match between FC Internazionale and Atalanta BC at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on January 11, 2020 in Milan, Italy.

Lautaro Martinez’s agent, Carlos Beto Yaque, has played down rumors of a move to Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

The Inter striker has been linked with a transfer to the Camp Nou for some time now, although it’s difficult to see currently how Barca can afford to bring him in.

Yaque has offered his thoughts on the speculation surrounding Martinez’s future and insists the striker is happy at the San Siro.

“Lautaro’s transfer is more in the media than real life. Lautaro has three years on his contract with Inter and is very happy where he is. He’s had a very good season, still has the Europa League to play for and I hope Inter can go all the way in that competition.

“I’ve never needed to give him advice and I don’t need to now either. He’s always been a complete player and has matured over the years.”

Recent reports have suggested that Barcelona and Martinez may decide to wait until 2021 to complete a deal. The striker is apparently willing to be patient, while Barca will need to raise funds to finance the transfer.
