Cristiano Ronaldo will be allowed to return to Juventus training on Tuesday after completing his coronavirus quarantine.
The Portugal international has been unable to meet up with team-mates after being in two-week isolation after flying back from Madeira, where he had spent most of the lockdown.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star left Italy shortly after Serie A was suspended at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
But after teams were given the green light to resume training at the start of the month, Ronaldo flew back to Turin, along with his family.
However, he was obliged to spend 14 days in quarantine in order to comply with national security measures designed to prevent further spread of the illness.
That period will be completed on Monday, leaving the five-time Ballon d’Or winner free to rejoin his colleagues on the training ground.
Practices at Juventus began on an individual level last week, with players strictly observing social distancing measures in this first step towards restarting activities in the nation.
Germany's Bundesliga returned to action at the weekend and Italian chiefs are confident that Serie A will follow soon after.
June 13 has been mentioned as a possible return date for Serie A, although much will depend on the results of routine testing all clubs will be carrying out in order to ensure their squads remain free of the virus.
Sports Minister Vincenzo Spadafora said last week: "We will imminently learn the verdict of the scientific committee on the [Italian Football Federation] FIGC's medical protocol.
"We are also ready to propose guidelines to the committee for training sessions involving all team sports and guidelines to open up facilities, including gyms, swimming pools and dance halls, that will allow all those who work in sport to resume their activities.
“Finally, we are also working with the Ministry for Education, for Equal Opportunities and Families to reopen sporting facilities, so we can guarantee a summer of sport for the youngest members of our society. So, one step at a time, sport will return. It'll be stronger than ever."
Ronaldo will be hoping to claim his second successive Serie A title with Juventus should the league get the go ahead to resume play.
The Old Lady are themselves looking to maintain their recent dominance over Italian football by winning the title for the ninth season in a row.
