Bologna eye signing of Everton's Kean on loan

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, Bologna could make a move for Moise Kean this summer with Sinisa Mihajlovic wanting the 20-year-old on loan next season.

Despite Kean only joining Everton from Juventus last summer, his short-term future at Goodison Park is uncertain after a slow start to life on Merseyside.

The Italian international has 26 appearances to his name for the Toffees, scoring only one goal and making just two assists. As per WhoScored, Kean has racked up less than 700 minutes of Premier League football, created seven chances, won nine aerial duels (32%), made 19 successful dribbles (54%), had 24 shots with 37.5% accuracy and whipped in 10 crosses.

He finds himself behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in the pecking order, spending most of his debut season on the bench. Everton aren’t blessed with depth in attack, but they may let Kean go temporarily if it means he’ll get more playing time.

The Blues have been linked with a number of strikers this season too – Andrea Belotti and Hirving Lozano among others – so Kean wouldn’t be guaranteed a starting place in 2020/21.

Despite scoring 29 goals in 36 games for Juventus U17s, 12 goals in 20 for the reserves and eight goals in 21 for the first-team, the Italian hasn’t been able to replicate such antics in England.

He’s still regarded highly at Goodison and should be part of a young Everton squad in years to come, but Kean needs to recapture his form. Whether Ancelotti will do that by using him more next season or by offering him out for nine months remains to be seen. Bologna are contemplating the idea of recruiting his services nevertheless.
