Liverpool go 13 points clear as Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane sink Sheffield United

Mohamed Salah of Liverpool celebrates with his team mates after scoring his team's first goal during the Premier League match between Liverpool FC and Sheffield United at Anfield.

Premier League leaders Liverpool have restored their 13-point advantage at the top of the table, after easing to a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United at Anfield.

The Merseyside Reds opened their 2020 account where they had left off the previous year, storming into the lead just 4 minutes into the match, when Mohamed Salah swept in his 10th league goal of the season.

Sadio Mane then tapped in from close range just after the hour mark, after his initial effort had been saved.

The win means that Jurgen Klopp’s men made it an entire year without a Premier League defeat. They haven't lost in 37 league games since a defeat at Manchester City on January 3rd, 2019.
