Zinedine Zidane furious with Real Madrid over Paul Pogba move

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is on collision course with club president Florentino Perez over a move for Manchester United star Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman returned to the club at the end of last season after Perez promised to fund a rebuild at the Bernabeu.

The likes of Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic have arrived in a £250m spending spree but they’ve been offset with sales of Theo Hernandez and Mateo Kovacic. After the initial outlay, Zidane wanted Madrid to focus their efforts in the remainder of the window in signing Pogba.

Zidane made it clear to Madrid on his return last season that Pogba was a crucial part of his rebuild.

However, a move for Pogba was dependent on Gareth Bale’s departure and the club have failed to get the Welshman’s £600,000-a-week wages off the books. Another man sticking around is James Rodriguez, who had been close to joining Atletico Madrid before reneging on a move across the city.

It leaves Zidane with two players that he does not want and without Pogba.

According to report, Zidane is furious with Perez for backtracking on promises he made when he agreed to return to the Bernabeu, The Spanish transfer market is open for another three weeks but United are very unlikely to sanction Pogba’s departure when they can no longer sign a replacement.
