UEFA Nations League: France 2-1 Netherlands

The World Cup winner France were triumphant again as they defeat Netherland 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League. France started the game well and took a deserved lead through Kylian Mbappe. The Paris St Germain striker has now scored six goals in his last six games for club and country and nine in just 24 appearances for the national team.


Besiktas striker Ryan Babel helped the visitors level up the score. But, Olivier Giroud smart finish with 16 minutes remaining was enough to give France the points in Group A1.



The Chelsea forward Giroud has scored the 32nd goal of international career, taking him past Zinedine Zidane with only Thierry Henry, Michel Platini and David Trezeguet ahead of him on France’s all-time list.





The Netherlands will host Germany on Saturday, before the Germans travel to face France on Tuesday, 16 October.
