Leeds United Closing In On Kalvin Phillips Replacement

Joe Aribo of Rangers FC battle for the ball with Tyler Adams of RB Leipzig during RB Leipzig against Rangers FC, UEFA Europa league Semi-final at Red Bull Arena, Leipzig, Germany on April 28, 2022.

Leeds United are closing in on a move for RB Leipzig defensive midfielder Tyler Adams with personal terms being discussed between the club and his representatives.

With Kalvin Phillips having now been sold to Manchester City for an initial £42m, Leeds are looking to sign his replacement and Jesse Marsch wants countryman Adams.

The club are in advanced negotiations with Leipzig for the signature of United States international Adams this summer.

They have tabled a bid of €15m, which is expected to be enough to snare Adams away from Leipzig, who are looking to sell.

According to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, the talks are in the home stretch and Leeds are currently negotiating a contract with the player’s representatives.

Adams is keen on the move and has a prior relationship with Leeds manager Marsch.

He has been the American’s top target since it became clear that Phillips would be leaving Leeds this summer.
