Marc Roca to undergo Leeds medical

Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca will undergo a medical with Leeds United today ahead of a £10 million move to Elland Road.

Roca flew into England from Spain last night and is set to become Leeds’ third signing of the summer, on a four-year deal from the Allianz Arena.

Leeds agreed a fee for Roca earlier this week, fresh from striking deals to sign Red Bull Salzburg pair Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen.

The club have moved quickly in this transfer window, on the back of a tense Premier League relegation fight, and the signing of Roca will take their total expenditure so far to £45 million.

Roca is a former Spain Under-21 international who made his name at Espanyol before securing a move to Bayern in 2020.

His minutes at Bayern have been limited, however, and he is leaving Germany two years into the five-year deal he signed in Munich.

Leeds are braced for a bid from Manchester City for their star midfielder Kalvin Phillips but Roca is not being signed as a direct replacement for Phillips.

The Elland Road club will move for another midfielder in the market if Phillips departs in this window. City hope to sign the England international for between £45 million and £50 million.
