Pep Guardiola provides Manchester City update ahead of Borussia Monchengladbach

Pep Guardiola, Manager of Manchester City reacts during the Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester City at Emirates Stadium on February 21, 2021 in London, England.

Manchester City will return to Champions League action on Wednesday evening.

The Sky Blues would dominate their group, notching five wins and one draw whilst conceding just a solitary goal.

As for Gladbach, their group-stage experience was slightly less positive, with the German outfit only securing second place in Group B due to their goal difference.

Borussia Monchengladbach’s league form has also taken something of a nosedive of late as well.

In their last five Bundesliga clashes, Gladbach have notched just one win.

City, meanwhile, are on an 18-game winning run across all competitions and are of course the clear favourites for Wednesday’s game.

Ahead of City’s return to the European stage, Pep Guardiola would hold his latest pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

The Spaniard discussed a number of topics in the presser, including providing a fitness update on his squad.

And for the most part, it is very good news for the Citizens, with Guardiola confirming that everyone, apart from Nathan Ake, is fit:

“Everyone except Nathan is fit.

Guardiola added:

“Right now I am thinking about team selection. I am not clear because I need to see how the players recover and feel. We will decide tomorrow.”
