Tottenham somehow contrived to throw away a three-goal lead as West Ham grabbed a remarkable 3-3 draw in their dramatic Premier League clash.
Hueng-Min Son scored in the opening 45 seconds and Harry Kane got two as Tottenham roared into a three-goal lead on Sunday afternoon as Gareth Bale made his second debut off the bench, but West Ham recovered in a crazy finale.
West Ham barely had time to know they were playing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when Son broke the deadlock inside the first minute. A pinpoint long ball from Kane in his own half was met by the South Korea international who clinically finished into the bottom corner.
And it was down Tottenham's left-hand side that the north London club extended their advantage in the derby. Son popped up again and laid the ball off to the England striker who nonchalantly nutmegged Declan Rice before he characteristically smashed his shot home.
Eight minutes later and Spurs were three up as West Ham's right flank was ruthlessly cut open again. Sergio Reguilon, who has quickly cemented the starting left-back spot at Spurs, lofted a delightful cross to the far post which an unmarked Kane nodded into the opposite corner.
West Ham had few ideas going forward until late on with Hugo Lloris mostly untroubled in the game which Tottenham dominated, but that was when the hosts unravelled.
Two late goals seemed to be nothing but consolations, but Manuel Lanzini struck a stunning goal in stoppage time to deny Spurs in dramatic fashion.
