Harry Kane and Heung-min Sonran riot as Tottenham thrashed 10-man Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford to cap off a frantic but fantastic week.
It looked a difficult afternoon ahead for the visitors after Bruno Fernandes scored from the spot after just two minutes, but goals from Tanguy Ndombele, Kane and Son all-but handed Spurs victory before half-time, aided by a controversial Anthony Martial red card.
The visitors responded emphatically and immediately found themselves level as Tanguy Ndomebele capitalised on a careless mix-up between Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw to smash home with his left foot.
Spurs then completed the turnaround after just seven-minutes with the partnership of Kane and son once again proving telepathic.
The England captain cleverly put Son through with a quickly taken free-kick, which the South Korean clinically dinked over De Gea.
United were still in the game with just one goal separating the two, but they were dealt a heavy blow as Martial was perhaps harshly sent off after taking a swipe at Lamela, who certainly made a meal of the contact as he flung himself to the floor.
It went from bad to worse for United as Spurs scored just three minutes later, this time Son cutting it back to Kane, who made no mistake with the finish into the bottom corner, before the South Korean made it four with a clever finish through De Gea's legs.
The second half continued as the first half ended, with Aurier finishing off a fine Spurs move after an incisive Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg pass to give the visitors a four-goal lead, before Kane made it 6-1 with an emphatic penalty after Paul Pogba brought down Ben Davies.
In a momentum-building victory, Spurs move back into the top five after a third win in six days, and with Gareth Bale and Carlos Vinicius to be ready come the end of the international break, Mourinho's side are looking on the up.
As for United, defeat leaves them in 16th place after two defeats from three. And it's fair to say, all eyes will be on the Manchester club tomorrow as the transfer deadline looms.
