Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has joked that he could leave the Toffees after only one more season because that is when he tends to be given the sack.
The appointment of Ancelotti to replace Marco Silva in 2019 was viewed as a major coup at the time and the three-time Champions League winner has transformed the Toffees so far this season.
They are the only unbeaten side in the Premier League and currently sit top of the table, ahead of their Merseyside rivals Liverpool on goal difference.
With Everton flying high under the Italian, he was asked in an interview with Sky Sports how long he plans to stay at Goodison Park and the 61-year-old joked that he never normally stays at a club for more than two years because he ends up getting sacked.
"Usually, my experience is to stay two years at a club," he said. "But not because I didn’t want to stay, because they sack me! I hope I’ll stay a little bit longer."
Since his departure from AC Milan in 2009, Ancelotti has not made it to a third season in charge at any of his following jobs, getting the boot from Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Napoli in his second campaign.
Ancelotti also spoke about the club's ambition to qualify for a European competition this season, adding: "The spirit and the atmosphere in the training ground has totally changed compared to last season.
"Last season was really difficult for everyone - they didn't start well, they changed the manager and I arrived, then there was lockdown, so the season was really complicated.
"The players were able to switch and to prepare the new season with a different spirit, that was the key.
"[Our goal] doesn't change. We started well, we want to reach the European positions, we want to play in Europe next season and so there are two possibilities - the Europa League or the Champions League.
"We hope to reach this goal that is really important for us, and for the club."
