Suarez agrees Barcelona exit, tipped to join Atleti

Luis Suarez of FC Barcelona celebrates with teammate Arturo Vidal after scoring his team's second goal during the UEFA Champions League Quarter Final match between Barcelona and Bayern Munich at Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica on August 14, 2020 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Luis Suarez is reportedly close to leaving Barcelona on a free transfer and is being tipped to join Atletico Madrid.

According to Catalunya Radio, the Uruguay international has finally come to an agreement with the Catalan giants to terminate his contract which still has a year left to run.

Suarez has also agreed to move to Atletico Madrid, although any deal is dependent on Diego Simeone’s side offloading Diego Costa or Alvaro Morata first.

Morata is once again being linked with a return to Juventus, with all sorts of reports flying about regarding what sort of deal may happen.

Deportes Cuatro report the 27-year-old will head back to the Turin giants on a season-long loan, while Fabrizio Romano has offered a slightly different version of events.

Morata’s departure could then see Suarez leave Barcelona. The striker has already been told by Ronald Koeman’s he not in his plans for 2020-21 and has been left out of all three of Barca’s pre-season friendlies.

The teams do not have too long to work out the details. The transfer window closes in two weeks, while Barcelona open their La Liga campaign on Sunday against Villarreal.
