Wolves star Adama Traore has been sent home from international duty with Spain after testing positive for coronavirus antibodies.
Traore, who has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United this summer, is not deemed to be a risk in terms of spreading the virus to others.
The 24-year-old winger will now miss Spain's Nations league game against Ukraine on Sunday, having been sent home to England in line with UEFA protocols.
Traore is still waiting to win his first senior cap for Spain after being left out of the team for Thursday's 1-1 draw against Germany following an inconclusive Covid-19 test.
He underwent further testing on Friday and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed he has been sent home following the results.
The RFEF said in a statement: "On receiving the results of the test, and despite the player showing a high level of antibodies such as a positive IgG count, the RFEF medical services, in accordance with UEFA, have decided to liberate the player from his duties with the national team, even though he poses no risk of spreading the virus to his team-mates.
"Under UEFA protocol, it is recommended not to travel to a stadium if the result of a PCR is not totally negative."
Traore has been linked with interest from Liverpool, Manchester City and neighbours United following an impressive season for Wolves, during which he scored six goals and posted 12 assists.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has described Traore as "unplayable at times", while Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has previously admitted he didn't know whether his star player would still be at Molineux next season.
The Spain under-21 ace has again been frustrated in his wait for a first senior international appearance, having had to withdraw from the Spain squad in November last year due to injury.
But national team boss Luis Enrique rates him highly.
"In these last two seasons in England he has improved a lot," Enrique said last month.
"He is hungry and eager to continue improving. He can bring us many things."
